Son unha bióloga especializada en bioquímica de solos mariños. Con especial interese no ciclo do carbono en solos de pradeiras mariñas e marismas, e no papael das comunidades microbianas nel. Creo na importancia da divulgación científica e na participación das comunidades na xestión dos ecosistemas e estou tratando de incluir enfoques de ciencias sociais no meu proxecto de investigación. No meu proxecto de doutorado estudei a bioxeoquímica do solo de pradiras mariñas. Para o que empreguei tres aproximacións complementarias. Primeiro, estudei a composición do solo e utilicei análises estatísticos multivanrientes para resumir a información e interpretar os principais procesos de diaxéneses do solo. A segunda aproximación foi estudar as interaccións entre materia orgánica do solo e a comunidade microbiana mediante métodos basados en cultivos e mtaxenómica. Por último, revisei as principais características dos solos de pradeiras mariñas empregando a rede de coñecemento e diversas bases de datos para recopilar información publicada. Ademáis, tiven a oportunidade de traballar no proxecto Life Blue Natura, un proxecto europeo coordinado pola Administración Pública da rexión de Andalucía (sur de España), que tiña como obxectivo desenvolver o marco legal para incluir a restauración de ecosistemas de carbono azul como proxectos de compensación a través do mercado voluntario de carbono. Fun responsable de organizar un curso internacional de tres días sobre evaluación de carbono azul, no que impartín os contidos relacionados co diseño de campo e a análise de datos. Como consultora externa, escribo as metodoloxías de estimación de carbono azul do solo do Manual for the Creation of Blue Carbon Projects in Europe and the Mediterranean (International Union for Conservation of Nature, In press). Actualmente, traballo como investigadora prostdoutoral Margarita Salas no Departamento de Bioloxía e Centro de Estudos Ambientais e Mariños da Universidade de Aveiro (CESAM-UAVIR), onde investigarei o papel da vexetación de pastos mariños e marismas e as comunidades microbianas na acumulación de materia orgánica no solo.
